Kathryn regularly appears in the Crown, Magistrates and Youth Courts on behalf of the prosecution and defence. She has experience of a broad range of criminal matters including dishonestly offences, possession and supply of drugs, public order offences and offences of violence- particularly in a domestic violence context. She is regularly instructed to represent members of the Licensed Taxi Drivers Association and has particular experience of handling submissions advancing special reasons and exceptional hardship.

Cases of Note

Poland v Przemyslaw Lewandowski 2015: Appeal against Extradition in the Administrative Court relying on Article 8 ECHR and s.14 EA 2003

R v PR (Canterbury Crown Court) 2015: PR was charged with possession of indecent images of children, Category A. Following mitigation the Judge imposed a suspended sentence order of 18 months instead of immediate custody.

R v K 2015: Secured an acquittal for a defendant charged with possession of an offensive weapon and common assault by undermining the reliability of evidence from several police officers and two independent eye-witnesses.

R v L (Highbury Corner Youth Court) 2015: Successfully defended a minor against an allegation of robbery. The acquittal was secured by excluding Facebook images which purported to identify the defendant as the perpetrator.
