Iwona has a wide-ranging criminal practice and appears daily in Crown Court. She defends in cases involving sexual offences, drugs supply, serious violence, dishonesty, weapons, and dangerous driving. Approachable and with easy communication skills, Iwona is often instructed to represent vulnerable defendants and those with mental health issues.

As a prosecutor, Iwona is fair and always thoroughly prepared. She started prosecuting as a pupil in Chambers and has been appointed to the CPS panel of advocates in 2019.


Before commencing pupillage, Iwona worked as a paralegal and legal researcher at Peters & Peters Solicitors, where she gained experience in business crime.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Iwona performed worldwide as a concert violinist and taught at the Royal College of Music and Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Iwona is bi-lingual and can take instructions, and advise, in Polish.

R v L, Luton Crown Court [2020] GBH. Unanimous not-guilty verdict after a trial and a successfully argued self-defence.

R v L, Oxford Crown Court [2020] – GBH in prison. Unanimous not-guilty verdict after a 4-day trial.

R v B, Aylesbury Crown Court [2020] – 51-year-old man with life-long schizophrenia was charged with attempted robbery. After a two-day trial, the jury unanimously acquitted after just 45 minutes of deliberations.

R v W, St Albans Crown Court [2019] – A woman pleaded guilty to 5 charges of child neglect after a toddler fell out of a van, travelling at 70mph on a motorway. After successful mitigation, the Court imposed a suspended sentence order.

R v T, Stratford Magistrates’ Court [2019] – Successful defence, which resulted in the acquittal of T, after a trial in the case of handling stolen goods.


R v O, Wood Green Crown Court [2020] – Domestic violence case where the appellant had assaulted his sister and her friend in their family home. Appeal dismissed; restraining order issued.

R v H (youth), Ealing Magistrates’ Court [2019] – Successful prosecution, which resulted in the conviction of H, after a trial in the case of joint-enterprise knife-point robbery.

R v N (youth), Stratford Magistrates’ Court [2019] – Successful prosecution, which resulted in the conviction of N, after a trial in the case of possession of a bladed article.
