Actions

Over the past 19 years Joanna has appeared in cases of the utmost gravity including homicide, people trafficking, conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, possession of firearms with intent to endanger life, serious sexual offences, fraud and armed robbery.

She is considered by those who instruct her to “go above and beyond” in order to “provide her clients with a first-class service”. She is “meticulous in the detail of the cases in which she in instructed” and this approach has led to her receiving repeat instructions by professional and lay clients alike.

An experienced criminal practitioner, Joanna has a particular understanding of those cases involving vulnerable defendants, whether due to young age, mental illness or other personal difficulty.

Examples of instructions as led junior: gang-related retribution murder, baby shaking s.5 DVCVA 2004, gang-related “ride out” murder, homicide described as a botched exorcism where 7 family members stood trial, a large-scale fraud perpetrated across multiple European jurisdictions, conspiracy to import firearms for sale to an OCG.
