James Stansfeld has succeeded in stopping the extradition of a requested person to France. In the unusual case of France v B, the Court accepted James’ argument that B’s extradition should be stopped because of a real risk of an Article 3 ECHR violation, by reason of conditions in Bordeaux-Gradignan Prison. The Court went on to order B’s discharge. James was instructed by Russell Nicholson of Tuckers Solicitors.
