Nicholas Hearn successful in High Court for Government of India in Nirav Modi case
This morning (05/03/20) Nirav Modi appeared before Mr Justice Dove in his fifth application for bail in relation to extradition proceedings arising from the $1bn Punjabi National Bank fraud case. This was Mr Modi’s second High Court bail application, his first having been refused by Mrs Justice Simler (as she then was) in June 2019 (Modi v GOI [2019] EWHC 1933 (Admin)). Nicholas has represented the Government of India successfully in both High Court applications. The extradition proceedings are due to commence at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 11th May 2020.
