Acquittals in money laundering trial for Yusuf Solley and Katie Jones
Yusuf Solley and Katie Jones co-defend in an eight-week, high-value money laundering trial at Guildford Crown Court. Their clients, mother and son, denied any knowledge or suspicion as to the criminal origins of the funds, which flowed from a spate of frauds committed by rogue traders. The defence argued that they had been duped by the first defendant. Running a successful cut-throat defence and relying on expert psychological evidence, Yusuf’s client was unanimously acquitted of all counts she faced save for a single discrete low value transfer late in the indictment period. Katie’s client was acquitted and maintains his good character. Yusuf and Katie were both instructed by Helen Ahmet consultant senior solicitor at Bark and Co solicitors.
