Before commencing pupillage, Alex provided pro-bono representation for children excluded from school. He also volunteered as a CAIWU trade union representative on behalf of cleaners facing unfair dismissal, and he was an advisor at an immigration law clinic.
Alex graduated with a First-Class degree from the University of Oxford, before completing the GDL and BVS at City St Georges, University of London. He was awarded a Lord Denning scholarship from Lincoln’s Inn and has written on extradition, joint liability, and deception in sexual offences.
