Raphael joined Chambers in 2025 following the successful completion of his pupillage and has rapidly established a busy criminal practice. He regularly appears in the Magistrates’ Court, Youth Court and Crown Court in cases involving serious violence, drug dealing, weapons and dishonesty.
Raphael is known for his thorough preparation, careful analysis of complex legal and evidential issues, and effective advocacy. Solicitors regularly entrust him with substantial and sensitive cases, valuing his sound judgment, attention to detail and meticulous approach to case preparation.
He is particularly adept at working closely with youth clients and those who are vulnerable or require additional support, enabling him to build trust quickly and present their cases fearlessly and effectively to the Court.

Alongside his defence practice, Raphael is a member of the CPS External Advocates Panel at Grade 2 and regularly receives prosecution instructions from the Crown Prosecution Service. He also accepts instructions on behalf of local authorities, the Probation Service and other prosecuting authorities.
