Tochi maintains a busy practice in the Crown Court, Magistrates’ Court and Youth Court. She is regularly instructed to defend in trials and appeals to the Crown Court, as well as quasi-criminal matters such as Stalking Protection Orders and forfeiture proceedings. She also prosecutes in the Crown Court.
Before coming to the Bar, Tochi was employed by a London criminal defence firm, where she widely assisted solicitors, including analysing evidence for a prominent fraud case. Additionally, she gained considerable experience working with and advocating on behalf of young people. She was a youth advocacy worker at the Black Learning Achievement and Mental Health UK charity (BLAM UK) and was particularly focused on opposing school exclusions of Black and mixed-race children.
