Before pupillage, Tom worked as a legal research assistant in environmental law.
As a senior volunteer caseworker at the IPP Appeals Service, he identified appeal grounds and provided written advice to prisoners serving Imprisonment for Public Protection (IPP) sentences. He also volunteered with Child Poverty Action Group’s Judicial Review Project.
Tom has written on police law for StopWatch, including a briefing for legislators on the Mental Health Act.
