Estelle Thornber secures acquittal in Dangerous Driving case

Estelle Thornber’s client was unanimously acquitted of causing serious injury by dangerous driving following a 5-day trial at Luton Crown Court. The jury were shown CCTV footage of the collision; the Defendant’s vehicle drove over the speed limit and through a red light, resulting in a head-on collision with another vehicle and causing serious injury to one of the passengers.  Estelle’s client maintained that both she and her passengers were under threat at the time from another vehicle and the defence of Necessity was successfully advanced.
