George Payne secures acquittal at the Old Bailey in relation to a charge of assault
George Payne secures acquittal at the Old Bailey in relation to a charge of assault brought by four police officers against an Arsenal fan who was leaving a match at the Emirates Stadium. The prosecution relied on the evidence of four uniformed officers including a Police Inspector supervising the team of 21 officers on duty that day. The defence argued that their use of force against the defendant was unlawful and the jury’s verdict supported this argument. The case was litigated by Clare Jones of Criminal Defence Milton Keynes.
