Kane Sharpe’s young client acquitted of two counts of rape following a 6-day trial at Wood Green Crown Court.

The case was a particularly sensitive one of its kind and required careful analysis of the complainant’s medical records and psychiatric history going to her reliability, as well as complex legal argument made pursuant to section 41 YJCEA (previous sexual activity), section 100 CJA (non-defendant bad character) and sections 117 and 114 CJA (exceptions to the hearsay rule).
Kane was instructed and expertly assisted by Dharsh Lokaswaran of Bark & Co solicitors.
