Katie Jones’ client acquitted of strangulation and multiple assaults

Katie‘s client faced a multi-count indictment alleging strangulation and assaults occasioning actual bodily harm against a former partner. The Crown’s case relied on hearsay evidence, an application to admit the complainant’s account as Res Gestae having succeeded. After less than 90 minutes in retirement, the jury unanimously acquitted the defendant of all counts on the indictment. Katie was instructed and assisted by Harriet Mather of CDMK.
