Katie Jones successful in the Court of Appeal
Katie‘s client was sentenced to a term of 54 months’ imprisonment for the burglaries of two neighbouring flats. He had a poor record for dishonesty offending, including 40 previous domestic burglaries. Leave to appeal against sentence was granted on a single ground, that the sentencing Judge made insufficient allowance for the principle of totality. The appeal was allowed by the full court and a sentence of 42 months’ imprisonment substituted. Katie was instructed by Ellen Keogh of Stuart Miller Solicitors.
