Lisa Bald defends a client accused of attempted murder of a man in revenge.
Lisa Bald, instructed by Judy Kelman of Lawrence & Co solicitors defends a client accused of attempted murder of a man in revenge.
The prosecution suggested that Lisa’s client had sought revenge after being seriously wounded by men with knives and swords in a random eruption of violence at a venue in Brixton. He was said to have backed up a gunman who then shot an innocent bystander and tried to shoot Lisa’s client’s attackers. They also claimed that Lisa’s client had been part of a joint enterprise to have a loaded firearm nearby ready for use that night at the club.
Despite his serious bad character being adduced before the jury, Lisa’s client was acquitted by the jury of attempted murder, s18 of an innocent bystander, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition after a 4 week trial in Kingston Crown Court. He was only convicted of violent disorder.
