Lucy McGarr secures acquittal in sexual assault

Lucy’s client acquitted of aiding and abetting assault by penetration.

The Prosecution alleged that Lucy’s client aided and abetted his friend who was convicted of sexually assaulting a young woman on the side of a road in Soho.

The Prosecution called multiple eye-witnesses who testified that Lucy’s client was guarding the road and deliberately intercepting them, preventing them from offering help to the woman being assaulted. Lucy argued, during cross-examination and closing submissions, that the witnesses were wholly mistaken in their recollection of her client’s actions.

After a 10 day trial at Southwark Crown Court, Lucy’s client was unanimously acquitted.
