Nicola Shannon KC is appointed to the Chair pool of the British Horseracing Authority Independent Judicial Panel

Chambers is delighted to announce that Nicola Shannon KC has been appointed to the pool of Chairs of the British Horseracing Authority’s independent Judicial Panel.

This appointment enhances Nicola’s growing presence in Sports Law and adds to the work she has undertaken since 2013 as the legal Board Member for UK Anti-Doping, the government arms-length body regulating elite sport in the UK.

Chambers is regularly instructed in disciplinary, regulatory, safeguarding, arbitral and anti-doping work across sport, and Nicola’s appointment to the BHA Independent Judicial Panel comes as Craig Harris has been instructed to represent an owner before the same body, in a case alleging misconduct against an owner and a trainer at a well-known professional yard.
