Philippa McAtasney KC secures acquittals on counts of murder and manslaughter

Philippa McAtasney KC, leading Peter Marshall from 4 Breams Buildings, secured acquittals on counts of murder and manslaughter on behalf of her client at the Central Criminal Court on 13th May 2025 after a 6-week trial. The defendant was a 44-year-old man of good character who was alleged to have given assistance and encouragement to others who stabbed a 21 year old man to death using machetes.  The incident took place in Deptford on the 6th June last year and was caught on CCTV.
