Richard Hearnden secured the conviction of two men and one woman who conspired to commit grievous bodily harm on a man in West Sussex. The man, who suffered two broken arms, was attacked with poles and was tasered after the female defendant lured him to a deserted rural spot during what he thought was a date. Stephen McNicol and Christopher Smith were sentenced on 24 October at Lewes Crown Court (sitting in Hove) to five years each. Megan McQuade was given a suspended sentence and disqualified from driving, in recognition of the fact that she drove the victim to the crime scene. Richard was instructed by Moses Koroma of the CPS South East.
