Soraya’s client was accused of the fraudulent evasion of a prohibition on the importation of a controlled drug after he was stopped at Newcastle Airport by Border Officers on return from Thailand with two suitcases containing 53 vacuum-sealed packages of cannabis with a street value of over £700,000.
A unanimous not guilty verdict was reached by the jury after an hour of deliberation at Newcastle Crown Court.
