Successful half time submission and unanimous acquittal in assault by penetration case.

Sarah Daniel secured the acquittal of her client following a four-day jury trial at the Old Bailey. Sarah’s client was charged with assault by penetration and, in the alternative, sexual assault.

At the close of the prosecution’s case, Sarah advanced a successful half time submission in respect of the assault by penetration count.
The remaining count of sexual assault continued before the jury. Following just under 40 minutes of deliberation, the jury returned a unanimous not guilty verdict.
