“Lily’s results speak for themselves… Her tenacity and persistence coupled with her ability to add the gentle touch where it requires it, is a wonderful balance of skill and flair.” (Stuart Miller Solicitors)
Lily appears daily in the Crown, Magistrates’ and Youth Courts across a broad range of criminal matters. This includes sexual offences, violence, dishonesty, drugs and possession of weapons. Lily also undertakes extradition cases.
Often described as a fearless advocate, Lily has a proven track record of securing acquittals and achieving fantastic results for her clients. Lily is particularly skilful at representing vulnerable and youth clients.
Clients often request Lily by name, due to being impressed with her previous results. Speaking of one such client who was acquitted of assaulting an emergency worker, a solicitor commented: “…my client was elated with the not guilty verdict that was arrived at and she commented on Miss Roberts-Phelps’ excellent advocacy skills, but mostly importantly she felt that a strong fight for justice was advanced on her behalf and thoroughly achieved”.
During her pupillage, Lily was awarded the Pupil’s Advocacy Prize from the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple and was noted by one of the judges as being “one of the most gifted advocates he had ever encountered on the pupils’ course”
Before commencing pupillage, Lily worked as a paralegal at a busy criminal defence firm. Here, Lily assisted in the running of Crown Court cases and Extradition matters.
