Notable Cases

R v DB (2025) [Hove Crown Court] Represented a client charged with coercive and controlling behaviour in an intimate relationship and ABH. Prosecution alleged that the defendant had engaged in controlling behaviour against his ex-partner during the course of their 18 month relationship. It was further alleged that the defendant punched the complainant’s foot causing significant injury. The defendant denied any such behaviour, arguing that their relationship was simply mutually unhealthy. He argued that the injury to the complainant’s foot was entirely accidental. The client was unanimously acquitted of both counts.
