Four days into a trial at Wood Green Crown Court, the Crown offered no evidence in respect of two counts faced by Adam Squibbs’ client, DS.

DS faced one count of controlling/coercive behaviour and one count of threatening with a bladed article. The complainant in respect of both counts was DS’s ex-wife. The Crown’s case was that DS had persistently abused his ex-wife throughout the course of their 32-year marriage.

After Adam had cross-examined the complainant for nearly a full day, the Crown offered no evidence on both counts, and accepted the defendant’s plea to common assault on one specific occasion.

Adam was instructed by Ali Hussain of AHS Law Solicitors.
