George Payne secures unanimous acquittal on all counts in wounding trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court
The defendant, who had mental health difficulties, was acquitted unanimously of wounding with intent, contrary to s.18. Three live witnesses said that the defendant had rained blows down on the complainant using a bottle in an unprovoked attack. Through careful cross-examination and detailed analysis of the CCTV evidence, the inconsistencies in the witnesses’ accounts were exposed.
George was instructed by Linda Barker of Duncan Lewis Solicitors, and he was ably assisted by his pupil, Alexander Fagan.
