Honor Fitzgerald successfully appeals sentence in the Court of Appeal.

The grounds were that i) the custodial term of the SSO imposed was manifestly excessive and ii) that it was wrong in principle to sentence him to an SSO as he should have been released on the day of sentence due to time served. The Court agreed with Honor‘s argument and quashed the SSO. The appellant was resentenced to a short custodial term which was deemed served.
