Lucy McGarr successfully prosecuted a child rapist who received a sentence of life imprisonment

The defendant was released on licence in September 2018 following serving a custodial sentence for raping his two young nieces. By October 2018, he had met a woman on an online dating app who had three children, the youngest of whom was seven years old. He began grooming the youngest child by forcing him to watch gay pornography and exposed his penis to him on multiple occasions. This abuse continued for several months until the defendant was recalled to prison. At trial, the defendant asserted the allegations against him were fabricated.
