Man walking past railings

Lucy McGarr’s client unanimously acquitted of stranger rape

The prosecution alleged that Lucy’s client had met the complainant outside a nightclub and brought her back to his flat and raped her in a violent manner. Lucy argued that the complainant had engaged in consensual sex with her client and that she lied about the allegation because she felt guilty about cheating on her husband.

The jury deliberated for less than 2 hours before unanimously finding the defendant not guilty.

Lucy was instructed by and expertly assisted by Lauren Alphonse of AB Mackenzie Solicitors.
